Geofencing

What is Geofencing?

Geofencing is the process of taking GPS location data from cell phones and targeting customers based off of where they go.

There are 3 best practices for Geofencing

Competitive Geofence Targeting:  This is where you target the people who go to your competitors places of business.  ie. A pharmacy targeting other pharmacies

Vertical Geofencing Targeting:  This is where you target people who go to places that generally come to you later. ie. a Oil Change service provider targeting Car Washes

Loyalty Geofencing Targeting: This is where you target your own place of business to follow up with your customers after having visiting your location.  ie. A retailer targeting their visitors to come back for a special offer.

How does Geofencing Work?

A virtual fence is placed on a map that has a set of at least three coordinates of latitude and longitude.  Now that there is a geofence created it can start to capture locations data of any device that enters within the geofence.  Once a device is captured by the geofence is will start to send digital banners ads to that device for up to the next 30 days.

What are the Benefits of Geofencing?
